Correction in article: Bolt improved his 200m world record from 19.30 and not 19.32, as was previously reported. Thanks to those who keep looking out.

MONTE-CARLO —

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has ratified the three world records, including the two Jamaican Usain Bolt set at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany last month.

The sport governing body on Wednesday confirmed the 9.58seconds and 19.19seconds world records Bolt set when winning the 100m and 200m sprint double in Berlin, as well as the 77.96 metres of Poland’s Anita Wlodarczyk in the women’s Hammer Throw.

Bolt’s 9.58secs for the 100m, improved his own previous mark of 9.69secs, set at the Olympic Games in Beijing, last summer. The 19.19secs half lap accomplishment bettered the 19.30secs he set last year also in the Bird’s Nest in Beijing.

Meanwhile, Wlodarczyk who landed the women’s Hammer Throw crown with her 77.96m effort, replaces Russian Tatyana Lysenko as the record holder in the event.

Lysenko’s previous mark was 77.80m, set three-years-ago in Tallinn.
