ZURICH — Skillful playmaker Kaka said he turned down a move to follow coach Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea when he left AC Milan in the summer.
The Brazilian international was a top target for Ancelotti, but said he snubbed the move to the Blues to join his dream club Real Madrid for a fee of £56million.
“It came to a point where it was better for both Milan and I to part,” Kaka said.
“When Milan opened the doors for me it was a sign. I no longer shared the same motives as the team.
“And if there came a day when I had to leave Milan, I had always wanted to play in Madrid. I was able to go with Ancelotti to Chelsea, but I told him it was my dream to go to Madrid.”
The 27-year-old now plays with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso, who are just a few of the big summer signings by the Spanish giants, who also featured the likes of Sergio Ramos, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Raul in their team selection.
Kaka was also a big target of Manchester City but turned down that move despite almost completing the deal.
