MANCHESTER, England — Manchester City are reportedly targeting a shock move to bring AC Milan veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi to the English Premier League.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Man City, the new world’s richest club who has already brought in a number of strikers, including Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz, is looking to bring in the Italian when the transfer market reopens in January.
Inzaghi, whose contract with Milan runs out at the end of the season in June, has been struggling to find a regular place in the Serie A side and is reportedly wanting a move to play more first team football.
The 36-year-old who is also a reported target of Parma, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid may also reunite with former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti at English league leaders Chelsea.
Ancelotti is hoping to find valued replacements to cover for his departing African Nations Cup pair Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou and could also take the Italian off Milan’s hand.
