ROME, Italy — Juventus striker David Trezeguet has been sidelined for about a month because of a calf injury he sustained in training, the Serie A club said in a statement on Friday.
According to his team’s website, “the French forward had an ultrasound and a MRI for the trauma distraction at left calf suffered during yesterday training session.
“The diagnosis is a first grade lesion of left soleus muscle, for which they foresee a stop of about 30 days.
The 32-year-old is Juventus’ top scorer in the league this season with six goals.
The injury means Trezeguet will not be among the players on the pitch on Sunday vs. Udinese. A special match for him, who will be given a prize for his goals record achieved against Atalanta.
Trezeguet’s injury leaves boss Ciro Ferrara with just three senior strikers to choose from.
