Chelsea continued their good run this season with another win after they recorded a 1-0 away win against FC Porto in their Group D Champions League match on Wednesday.

However, fellow English League team Manchester United were not so lucky, going down to a similar score at home to Besiktas, after manager Alex Ferguson elected to send out a youthful squad.

After playing out to a scoreless first half, Nicolas Anelka headed home from very close range from a Florent Malouda cross in the 69th minute.

United, meanwhile, resting several key players, including Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Antonio Valencia and Ryan Giggs, saw their 23-match unbeaten streak at home in the Champions League ended at the hands of Besiktas.

The group leaders, who only needed the one point from the match to win Group B with one match still remaining, fell victim to a long range bullet from Rodrigo Tello as the Turkish champions ended their seven year away losing streak in the competition.
