BARCELONA — The squad had their penultimate training session ahead of the Madrid game this morning and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lionel Messi were back with the rest of the group for the first time since their respective injuries.
Good news at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper, as the two front men, who both sat out Tuesday’s Champions League win against Milan, played a full part in training with the rest of the squad ahead of Sunday’s big game – a big step forward towards full recovery.
Ibrahimovic is coming off a hamstring injury in his left thigh and Messi from a grade 1 abductor tear in his left thigh and the presence of both players in the starting 11 against Pellegrini’s team is proving to be one of the big talking points in the build up to the match.
There was a good atmosphere in training, which began at 11-00 this morning, but also a clear focus on the job in hand on Sunday night. As with Friday’s session, only the first team players were at the session, with the youngster concentrating on Barca Atletic’s game against Otinyent on Saturday afternoon, and the 21-man squad included the returning Milito.
