MADRID — Kaka trained alone at the club’s training ground in Valdebebas on Tuesday after picking up a slight injury Real Madrid’s in 1-0 defeat to Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clasico at Camp Nou.
According Real’s website, the Brazilian midfielder picked up a groin strain and will need medical treatment and physiotherapy. The site also said that Kaka will undergo a specific training program that will keep him out of regular training for a week.
“A medical examination today (Tuesday), has determined that Kaka has pubalgia (groin pain) and will undergo medical treatment, physiotherapy and specific workouts this week,” a statement on the club’s official website said.
Also on the list are Guti, Christoph Metzelder and Ruud van Nistelrooy and they too had an easy session before returning to the gym to continue their recuperation in a bid to return to first team action.
Real Madrid’s quest of going four points clear in La Liga were dented on Sunday when Zlatan Ibrahimovic came on as a substitute to score Barcelona’s winning goal at Camp Nou.
