Report: Craig Bellamy hands in transfer request; Arsenal after him

The report said that Bellamy has apparently handed in a transfer request following the sacking of Mark Hughes as manager of City.

There have been reports that the Welsh star wants to play elsewhere, and despite new boss Roberto Mancini down playing any bad feeling between himself and Bellamy, the Italian left him on the bench for Saturday’s 2-0 win over Stoke City.

This has left Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger in a shock move for the speedy frontman in a swift move to sign replacements for the hand bag of injuries to the club strikers, including that of Dutchman Robin van Persie, who is out for the rest of the season.
