Sussex have agreed a deal to bring West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith back to the county as one of their overseas players for this summer’s Twenty20 Cup competition.
The 26-year-old initially looked to have ended his time at Hove after losing his Kolpak status, but Smith is now set for a short-term stint with the Sharks this summer.
He told the county’s official website: “It’s great to be returning to my home away from home and I’m looking forward to representing Sussex in a big way next year.
“My time so far at Hove has been hugely enjoyable and I believe that my cricket has benefited an enormous amount from the coaching and team spirit that is so evident at the county.”
Sussex skipper Mike Yardy added: “Dwayne played a huge part in our Twenty20 success last season and it is very important to get a player who can change the direction of the game like he can.”
