Barcelona full-back Dani Alves says he is hopeful of signing a new deal at the Camp Nou very soon, but admitted that he could leave if negotiations on the new contract is not satisfactory

The Brazil – who has been linked with moves away from Spain refused to rule out a move elsewhere – revealing that there has been interest from English Premier League clubs.

El Mundo Deportivo quoted Alves as saying: “My goal is to fulfill my contract until 2012. If the club believes that I am still useful, I will stay longer. If they think that I can serve no more use to the team, I leave and nothing happens, this is football.

“I moved from Sevilla to Barcelona, and could move from Barcelona to another side – I have no problem not being here. Obviously I would love to stay here as long as possible, and I try to work hard every day to make this relationship last.

The 27-year-old added: “I’m confident that we will agree, but we are still a bit distant from what I want. At the moment, we are having meeting but it has not advanced and not on our part. Now there are differences. What I want is the value of my performances on the field.

“I know something is coming in from the Premier League, but that is up to my representative. I am here to play.”
