The Difference – Manchester United vs Arsenal

Manchester United will be very hard to beat this season in the Barclay’s Premier League.

Even ESPN Analysts Tommy Smyth and former goalkeeper Shaka Hislop think so.

It was the time to talked about Arsenal chances at Old Trafford and who will be the danger man on the night. It is quite obvious that Wayne Rooney will be the main highlight of the clash – simply because of how quickly he can change a game with just one play and also – because he is Rooney.

But besides Rooney there is another man who could very well be a match winner for United. That is Dimitar Berbatov, who is the league’s leading scorer with 11 goals – five of which came against Blackburn Rovers and three against Liverpool. United boss Alex Ferguson has backed the forward to come good against the Gunners if he can get good services.

Ans speaking of services, one of the main supplier has to be Portugal winger Nani. He has played well against Arsenal in the past, but in patches this season he seems to be losing it. Nevertheless, overall Nani has had a very good start to the season and if he can provide more service to the front two men – United will be tough to beat.

WHERE ARSENAL STANDS

Arsenal will be looking to the in form Sami Nasri to carry the team forward, especially if Cesc Fabregas is ruled out.

But what if Nasri doesn’t show up? Who can Arsene Wenger look to for some inspiration.

Regardless of who the individual is or persons are, one thing for sure is that it will take a full team effort for the travelers to stay atop of the league.

But Arsenal have a leak and many teams are exploiting it. I truly believe the biggest problem Arsenal havs is at the back. They have managed to score lots of goals this season, but just doesn’t look like a champion side when put under pressure, especially when balls are played high over into the box.

Against Partizan, the Gunners just did not seemed in control, despite the result going 3-1 in their favour.

The funny thing is Tommy Smyth even believe that Arsenal have an even bigger problem – as he is not too impressed by the comments of the captain Fabregas, who basically says he won’t play unless he is fully fit. That is, unless, “I am 100%” fit.

Is that a comment of someone who really wants to help his team stay at the summit or just someone willing to finish off the season and move on.

Does he really still wants to leave to head to Barcelona?

Well, at this point in time Smyth seems to think so.

“If you’re 80% fit you should want to go out for even 10-15 minutes. I think that’s way it should go.”

Many will beg to differ, especially Wenger, who doesn’t think it is necessary for him to take any risk with the player if he can’t give a solid contribution.

Predictions
Smyth picks Manchester United to win 2-1
Hislop pick Manchester United to win 2-0
My Pick Manchester United 2-1
