Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili Killed On Olympic Track
International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge said the death of Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili “clearly casts a shadow” over the Vancouver Winter Games.
The 21-year-old Kumaritashvili died after crashing during training at the Whistler Sliding Centre on Friday. He flipped off the track and appeared to strike a metal pole before landing on concrete.
